Position Summary
Curando Medical Center is seeking a professional, experienced, and bilingual Medical Assistant (English/Spanish) to support clinical and administrative operations in a patient-centered medical practice. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for medical examinations and procedures
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs and patient history
- Assist providers during exams and minor procedures
- Prepare, clean, and stock examination rooms according to clinical standards
- Ensure proper handling and sterilization of medical instruments
- Schedule appointments, follow-ups, and referrals
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information
- Accurately document patient information in the EHR/EMR system
- Answer incoming calls and assist patients professionally
- Communicate clearly with patients in English and Spanish
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict patient confidentiality
- Support a positive, efficient, and respectful clinical environment
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
- Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written) – required
- Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Experience using EHR/EMR systems
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA – AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA – AMT)
- Experience in Primary Care or Specialty clinics
- Experience with injections, venipuncture, or EKGs (within scope of practice)
- Familiarity with insurance verification and basic medical billing
